Lawyer from LegalAid Qld gave similar advice to LegalAid Qld, including possibly ignoring ticket if you do not plan to return to that car park.
But mentioned you can bring to Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) to assess the fairness. The VIC case above should be a precedence as it explains how the parking fines are grossly over the amount of fair "Liquidated Damages" ... though it would depend on your situation.
